Saint Aymes

Saint Aymes is a London-based cafe in Hyde Park. It's Sister-owned and Black-owned, and adorably pink. I have been following these sisters and the journey of this cafe for years and was so excited to finally visit. While I was able to walk in right after opening on a weekday, their means of operation have changed since my visit. Currently, they are reservations Tuesday - Friday from 1 PM with walk-in only on Saturday. While this option isn't great for single diners I think it's a great option for private parties 2+. The details can be viewed here.

Atmosphere

Walking towards the cafe, you notice it well before you can read the sign as it is bright pink with flowers all around. There's colorful bistro seating outside as well and is a literal bright spot on Connaught St. Upon arrival I noticed a lovely display of books, gifts, pictures, and flowers. I couldn't help but purchase a couple of items on the way out. There was a counter area for pastry, coffee, and other to-go orders and seating towards the back. The music was fantastic, area well lit and downstairs a fun opportunity for photo opps. While the restroom wasn't as clean and stocked as I hoped it was pretty on par with my experience in UK facilities.

Tea Experience

After being quickly greeted and seated towards the back near one of many flower walls, I started perusing the menu. Unfortunately, I was under a time constraint and was not able to participate in their afternoon tea but I did have their Fruity Green tea and a Smoked Salmon bagel. Both were great (in fact I started to include a Smoked Salmon bagel into my diet a couple times a month) and I took my time enjoying my pot of tea.

Overall Score

I'm elated that I had the pleasure to experience Saint Aymes. I will definitely be back and am excited about their new offerings of private parties. While I've visited some other pink cafes in London this experience was by far my favorite. Unfortunately I can't score it because I did not have their afternoon tea but I encourage anyone heading to London to skip the E&LN's and Peggy Porschen's and go right towards Saint Aymes.
